IF YOU"RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS

On a train coming back from Manchester this afternoon, sat across the aisle was a young boy about 4 or 5 years old and his mother. He began to sing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands".

This is the response he received from the people in the same coach unit:
nobody sang or clapped along;
his mother told him to shush;
not one of the adults, except myself, not even his mother, looked and smiled at him to encourage him;
the vast majority of adults and all children ignored him;
several adults who were 'connecting' with their phones/tablets didn't even look up, and one of them was his mother;
the coach was deadly silent;

Merry Christmas!!
